College of International Studies

Newly founded in 2006, the College of International Studies of Nanjing Medical University has, however, a long history, which can be traced back to the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Section in 1934, when Nanjing Medical University was officially established. For over half a century, the teachers of foreign languages of the old generation had made great contributions to the foreign language teaching of Nanjing Medical University. In 2001, the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Section was renamed Department of Foreign Languages, which offered a 4-year English program in 2003, thus marking the beginning of discipline construction in foreign language teaching at Nanjing Medical University.

Professor Liu Xinmin, Dean of the College of International Studies of Nanjing Medical University, once studied at the English Department of Pittsburg State University, U.S.A., from which he graduated in 1993 with an MA degree in English and American literature.
