The Department of Biomedical Engineering was founded in 2005 and authorized to confer master’s degrees in the same year. There are currently six professors, one associate professor, two lectures, and one assistant. The joint efforts by the staff have produced two national invention patents and one computer software copyright. Besides seven academic books, the staff have published more than 110 research papers in many prestigious journals, including SCI and EI journals.

The Department offers students a broad range of training in Analog & Digital Electronics, Medical Instruments and Bio-signal Processing. Its current research focuses on Antibody, Nano-technology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Instrument and Medical Image Processing.
