The Department of Physics mainly undertakes the teaching of Medical Physics for all students in Nanjing Medical University. It also offers several other courses such as University Physics, Medical Imaging Physics and Medical Electronics.

There are 9 members in our department, including 3 associate professors, 3 lecturers, 1 assistant, and 1 senior engineer and 1 engineer. Four of them have a Master’s degree and one is currently in a master’s program. The Department undertakes over two thousand hours of classroom lecturing and laboratory teaching every year. Some faculty members have been invited to coauthor physics textbooks and electronics textbooks, and have been awarded by the University for their efforts.

The faculty members are doing research in Condensed State Physics, Medical Physics, Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering. Several members either participate in or manage some projects funded by Jingsu Province or the University. About 20 articles have been published by the faculty, some of which have been published in core journals and included in SCI journals or EI journals.

Now we are making an effort to improve teaching quality through collecting course materials and increasing group discussion among the faculty. Furthermore, we expect to advance research cooperation by organizing reading report meetings or academic lectures regularly so as to start a new era of research in the Department.
